The Kenyan music industry has come of age. A few years ago, artists were forced to have jobs to meet their day-to-day needs reason being music was not paying as it is today.

In my opinion, musicians of our generation have had it too easy. Every once in a while you’ll hear someone telling them to appreciate the fact that they don’t have to struggle.

Kevin Ombima, popularly known as  Rabbit King Kaka is a good example of a Kenyan singer who has had to endure a lot to get where he is today.

He recently showed his fans the paltry amount he got paid when he was still an upcoming artist and it’s not a laughing matter.

Here’s the photo, compare that with the millions that are floated around when you want to book an artist for a gig today.
