Stella Mwangi keeps flying the Kenyan flag high up in the Diaspora.

The rapper who is based in Norway has achieved a lot with her music and was recently in Kenya for a few shows and concerts.

During her TV interview on Citizen TV, Stella Mwangi said, “I don’t know if you guys know about this rapper called Xzibit, I don’t know. Sasa nilikuwa na-battle nay yeye when I was 14-years-old. I stepped up to him and told him let us battle. So, I have been doing this for a while, it’s a matter of growing up and getting to know yourself better.”

This interview got Stella Mwangi caused an uproar on Twitter after American rapper Xzibit tweeted that he had no idea who Stella is and he has never battled her.
“Wait, WTF are you talking about? ???????? huh???? Where was I?” Xzibit tweeted.

Away from all that drama, it is confirmed that Stella’s single has scored a big on BET Networks. Her single, Set It Off will feature as a soundtrack on the third episode of BET Africa’s show, Being Mary Jane Season 4 set to air on January 24, 2017 (for the US audience). Stella’s song plays at approximately 00:30 minutes into the show where the guest on Mary Jane’s show struts into the studio with her whole posse. Mary Jane crosses paths with them and then proceeds to find her producer to inform him of their arrival.

Set It Off is featured in a high energy and Hip Hop inspired EP dubbed Big Girl. She fuses Swahili and English in her European songs while remaining authentic to her African origin and style. It’s this very unique and authentic sound that has been sparking the interest in Hollywood circles.
