NACADA Director Chipukeezy has promised to take care of a young rapper Brian Masaba aka Juala Superboy’s school fees from Primary to University after his touching story surfaced online.
The 6-year old rapper, who is now a renowned name in the Kenyan music industry, lives in Kosovo (Mathare slums) where putting food on the table for his parent is an uphill task.
Superboy has been doing music for some time now but the venture is yet to generate money to sustain his family.
According to Chipukeezy, he will also give Superboy a permanent contract in his show so that he can be able to help his parents financially.
“It pains me to see this young and very talented boy cry because of the situation back at home. So I have decided that am going to take care of him, I will cater for his school fees (primary, Secondary & University). I met with his manager and pledged to support him . I also visited Socks ya Mkamba in Mathare and met with his parents and I pledged to support him. So once Chipukeezy Show resumes, we will give Super boy and Socks ya Mkamba a permanent contract on Chipukeezy Show, so that they can be able to assist their parents financially,” shared Chipukeezy.
Living in poverty
In a recent interview, Juala Superboy disclosed that his mother usually washes clothes to provide for their family, while his father is a casual construction worker.
“My mother used to wash clothes to provide for us but the job is no longer there. For six months, she has just been at home since she doesn’t have a job. My dad works as a casual construction worker. His job is temporal. It may be there today but nt get hired for about two weeks. To be sincere, my family is not that good. We get little to eat and have also gone without meals. I am in pain. We are about to be locked out of the house due to areas unpaid, To make it worse, even our school fees is yet to be paid,” said Superboy during the interview.
Battle with Khgaligraph Jones
