Ringtone, Christina Shusho Sh500,000 chopper
When we just thought Ringtone was quitting gospel music – as he announced about two months ago – the singer has pulled a first.
Last weekend, he hired two choppers to Lake Magadi where he recorded a video for his upcoming song that features celebrated gospel star and long-time friend Christina Shusho. The two choppers are said to have cost him Sh500,000 for the entire time he used them for the shoot.
“It is true that I announced that I am planning to retire and I am still consulting my fans about that. The Christina Shusho collabo is something we both have always wanted to do.
This collabo is different from any other musical piece I have ever done before. You can’t wait to see it,” Ringtone told Pulse. The video will be released next week.
With his March release Tenda Wema which features Christina Shusho, turning into one of the biggest gospel hits this year, Ringtone is a man on the spot.
On Wednesday this week, the singer was ambushed by a group of street boys – while shopping for spare parts for his car downtown – who forced him to part with a good sum of money.
“They confronted me calling me ‘Sonko’ and insisting I should walk the talk. They did a verse of Tenda Wema, stretched their hands and said I should simply bless them with some money and leave,” Ringtone told Pulse.
“I ended up shopping for them and buying food for them, something that left me about Sh50,000 less. That was a big lesson for me. My heart was fulfilled,” Ringtone said.
The singer has just completed building his house in Karen and will soon be hosting friends to a house warming party. I believe more to come from Ringtone who seems to be changing his music over time.
