Celebrated Kenyan media personality Edith Kimani is set to leave Kenya for Berlin, Germany –permanently, she says.

Ms Kimani is going to take up the position of a news anchor at Deutsche Welle (DW) headquarters in Germany.

Before her recent promotion, Edith Kimani served as the East Africa correspondent for DW, beginning July 2015.

“Time now for another step. Permanent move to Berlin as a news anchor with @dwnews. Grateful. Excited. Ready. Bis bald,” she wrote on Twitter early January, 2017.

In a July, 2015 interview with DW, Edith Kimani revealed her “love” for Berlin, Germany – which will now become her new home.

“I don’t like Berlin, I love Berlin. It is charming, very rich artistically and historically and I have loved every minute I’ve been here. It´s a very beautiful city with stories in its walls and history in its earth. Not different from Nairobi in that way but the vibe is quite different-positively,” she said.

Edith worked as an anchor for KTN before moving to DW.

KTN business news anchor Joy Doreen Biira will take over from Edith Kimani as the East Africa correspondent for DW, according to a statement on DW official website.
