Education CS Fred Matiang’i surprised many when he unexpectedly released the 2016 KCSE exam results on Thursday, December 29.
The CS had not hinted when the results would be out, but he made history by releasing the results early than it was expected.
Matiang’i announced that slight above 88,000 students managed a C+ and above and will gain entry into university.
Among those who managed this is former NTV reporter Richard Chacha’s daughter.
Chacha shared the news through his social media accounts, revealing that the daughter had scored a B (plain) in the exams.
The journalist had promised her a car should she pass and so he delivered it to her.
“Kusema na kutenda. I promised her a car and B plain has delivered it. Congratulations my daughter,” Chacha said.
The head of communication in Mombasa county also bought his younger daughter a goat when she passed her KCPE exams released at the beginning of December.
