Rapper Kanye West was on Monday, November 21, forced into a mental hospital – the UCLA Medical Center – for psychiatric evaluation, says TMZ.
According to sources who spoke to TMZ, cops responded to a call for a welfare check on Kanye West at around 1:20pm (American Time).
He was at his trainer Harley Pasternak’s home at the time and was “acting erratically.”
According to the entertainment news outlet, police called L.A. Fire and by the time paramedics arrived, Kanye West was calmer – but still resistant to going to the hospital.
His management and law enforcement convinced him that the move will be good for his health. Law enforcement sources confirmed Kanye was handcuffed to a gurney during transport to the hospital – as is standard protocol.
Sources said his wife Kim Kardashian was in New York City for a public appearance. However, she left for Los Angeles to be with her husband.
Kanye West, 39, has of late been making headlines following his mid-concert rants, where he publicly announced that he would have voted for Trump and called out his long-time friends Beyonce and Jay Z in his recent concert in Sacramento, California.
Kanye West was reportedly 90 minutes late to the Sacramento concert and only performed three songs before storming out of the stage.
