Award-winning Kenyan songstress Esther Akoth, known to her fans as Akothee, has no time for critics who claim her voice is bad.

In a recent interview with Mpasho, this writer asked the self-declared Kenya’s richest female singer to give her take on her bashers – people who have been urging her to quit music.

Surprisingly, Akothee didn’t take offence when question was posed. Instead, she decided to make light of the whole situation.

The musician who is currently topping charts with her latest release dubbed “Tucheze” said those who think that she has bad voice should mute the video and watch her dance.

“At least are listening to that. If I can’t sing, they should mute the song and watch the video,” Akothee retorted.

When asked what projects she is currently working on, Akothee said she has planned some great things, adding that she’s planning to drop them one after the other.
