A fast-rising gospel musician has come out to accuse producer Teddy B of conning him – The singer, Cleo Rhythm has accused Teddy B of going against their agreement by giving out a substandard end product – Cleo says Teddy B conned him KSh 23,000, money which he had paid for production services Prominent gospel music producer Benard Bulimwa, popularly known as Teddy B has landed himself in deep quandaries after pulling a very unprofessional stunt on his client. A fast-rising Mombasa-based gospel singer has come out to accuse the revered music producer of conning him KSh 23,000, money which he had paid for production services. In a letter sent to TUKO.co.ke, the artist known as Cleo Rhythm,31 accused Teddy B of going against their agreement by giving out a substandard end product.

According to the singer, Teddy B collected money for recording, instrumentation, and mastering of a song but only gave out a demo , and has been playing the ‘cat and mouse’ game ever since. ‘’I am a recording gospel artist based in Mombasa, 31 years old Kenyan male. On the 5th of September 2017 I paid a prominent music producer Teddy B, whose official names are Benard Bulimwa Kshs 23,000 for the recording, instrumentation, and mastering of my new song Mawe. Cleo added that Teddy B has been ignoring his calls, text messages and emails, leaving in with uncertainty over the release of his new song. However, Cleo says the matter is in the hands Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK), who have instructed their lawyers to take proper legal action against the producer. The singer concluded by asking Teddy B to duly deliver as per their agreement or face further humiliation.

‘’I demand Mr. Benard Bulimwa to send me my new single MAWE, well mastered and mixed because I have paid for it. Let him not do a shoddy job on my song because I wont accept it. I would also like to urge all music producers to handle other artists with respect as much as they give big artists because everyone pays to have his/her music recorded.I kindly request for your immediate intervention as the media to assist me get my music from Mr. Benard Bulimwa so as I can enable to further my musical career. Your assistance is much needed and highly appreciated’’ he wrote.

Teddy B is a big name in the gospel music industry having worked with some of the greatest talents in the country a la Gloria Muliro, Bahati, Willy Paul and others.Efforts to reach the producer for his comments over the same hit the wall since his phone was off as at the time of publishing this post.
